Insulated Vehicles Repair
Repair and partial or complete restoration of insulated truck and van bodies.
It is well known that transport refrigeration relies on a unified system of insulation and a cooling unit – neither alone can reliably sustain the desired temperature.
Often, transport cooling units are found in excellent condition while the vehicle's insulation has been seriously compromised. Deterioration of the insulation, regardless of vehicle type, substantially reduces the vehicle's performance and creates a range of problems that reduce the effectiveness of the transport, freight, or delivery service.
The most common cause of insulation deterioration is rupture or other damage to the inner or outer surfaces of the insulated panels and the bonds between them, usually from collision with an obstacle, another vehicle, or docking and loading equipment. Sometimes the damage is only to the inner surface, caused by impact during loading or unsecured cargo.
Not every case requires replacing the whole insulation instead of repairing it. Our company specializes in eliminating such insulation problems, with the result being complete recovery of the insulating capability and structural soundness of the refrigerated van or truck.
Since our clients' interests are at heart, we try to keep existing structures intact wherever possible to reduce repair cost; when this is not feasible, whole walls and roofs are replaced.
We pay very special attention to the floors of refrigerated vehicles, which are subjected to the most severe wear as the supporting body for both cargo and the insulated box itself, while their underside is continuously exposed to road conditions. Even small damage to the underneath covering lets moisture into the floor panel, critically damaging its insulating and supporting properties.
These are the reasons our company offers services for partial or complete restoration of vehicle insulation.
